Şekerim Kaç · Last updated: October 1, 2026

Şekerim Kaç is developed by Strings Yazılım Teknoloji Ticaret Ltd. Şti. This policy describes data processing in the iPhone and Mac apps and the optional background update service on iPhone. The Mac app retrieves readings directly from your selected source and does not use this background service. Source credentials are not sent to Strings' notification service unless you explicitly enable that feature.

Data on your device

The app retrieves glucose readings, timestamps, trends and, when available, insulin-on-board and carbohydrate-on-board information from your selected Nightscout site or Dexcom Share service. Recent readings and chart caches, preferences, thresholds, the Nightscout address and Dexcom username are stored in the app's device storage. The app and widgets share data through an App Group. Nightscout tokens, Dexcom passwords and the device credential for the notification service are protected in Keychain.

Optional background updates

When you enable and save this feature, source credentials, the display name, notification tokens, a random device-specific connection identifier, thresholds and alarm preferences are sent to the notification service. Each connection is authorized separately. The server retrieves new readings from your own Nightscout address or selected Dexcom region and sends updates through Apple's Push Notification service (APNs) for the Lock Screen, Dynamic Island and supported CarPlay/Watch views.

Glucose, trend and optional insulin/carbohydrate information are processed in server memory and transmitted through Apple to your device. Glucose history and reading values are not written to the server database. Encrypted source credentials and Dexcom session information, notification tokens, display name, preferences, measurement/delivery timestamps and alarm snooze/repeat state are retained to operate the service. Data therefore does leave your device when this feature is enabled.

Providers and purposes

Data is processed to display and update your selected readings and provide notifications you enable. Your Nightscout operator and Dexcom are responsible for processing within their own services. For background updates, Google Firebase/Google Cloud provide hosting, database and secret storage, and Apple provides notification delivery. These providers may retain technical records such as IP addresses, request times and error status for security and operations. Source credentials and reading values are not deliberately written to the application's server logs.

The app contains no advertising, tracking or third-party usage analytics SDKs. Data is not sold or shared for advertising. The app does not implement CloudKit/iCloud synchronization; Apple's device backup and operating-system services are subject to their own settings and terms. If you contact support by email, your address and message are processed to respond to your request. Do not send passwords or tokens.

Retention and deletion

You can disable the background connection and delete its server data in Settings. Once deletion succeeds, source credentials, notification tokens and service settings are removed. If the network is unavailable, the app shows that deletion is pending; reopen the app and retry when connected. Notifications already sent may not be recalled. Only the connection identifier and a deletion marker are retained for seven days to prevent delayed requests from recreating the connection.

If the app does not renew its registration for seven days, the connection stops and its record is deleted by the next daily cleanup. Uninstalling the app does not immediately send a server deletion request. App data may be removed when uninstalling, but Keychain items can remain in some circumstances. Changing the data source clears the reading cache. These actions do not delete the original records at Nightscout or Dexcom. Provider backups and technical records follow those providers' retention terms.

Visibility and children's data

Glucose information may be visible to others on the Lock Screen, widgets, notifications or a vehicle display. You can manage these surfaces in your device settings. When monitoring a child or another person, you must have the appropriate authority and permissions. The background feature processes that person's health information as described above.
